The scale of China’s national ETS will be bigger than expected

09 December 2015 – Mr. Jiang Zhaoli, deputy director of the climate change department at the NDRC, mentioned at a side event at the UN climate talks in Paris that China’s national ETS will cover half of the total GHG emissions and that there will be about 10,000 companies involved.

He said that the national ETS of China would cover six sectors and 15 sub-industries from the beginning (2017) and after 2020, the scale of China’s ETS will be expanded further.
