09 October 2015 – According to a new announcement by Guangdong DRC, Guangdong will expand the coverage of the reporting sectors for GHG emissions. Enterprises from six sectors including ceramics, textiles, non-ferrous metals, chemicals, paper, and civil aviation that emitted more than 20,000 tons of CO2 in 2014 or are consuming more than 10,000 tons of standard coal have to report their annual GHG emissions (from 2012) to the government.
With the current 4 industries, all the reporting sectors cover 70% of total GHG emissions in Guangdong. Especially because of the inclusion of the mobile emissions (civil aviation). The two involved airlines are China Southern Airlines and Shantou Airlines.
