15 November 2016 – The Shanghai emissions trading market will reopen on Friday Nov.18, the local carbon exchange announced. It will lower its emissions cap and issue 155 million CO2 auctions. For different industries, there will be three allocation methods, namely benchmarking, grandfathering, and historical intensity method. Moreover, the voluntary emission reduction projects to which CCER belongs should be non-hydropower projects and should not exceed 1% annual quota. Starting from 2016, Shanghai’s carbon emission quota does not contain the year mark.
