29 August 2017 – A workshop on ‘Chinese Certified Emissions Reduction (CCER) Futures Trading’ was held in the Nansha Free Trade Zone (FTA) of Guangzhou. The workshop was in line with the State Council’s overall development plan for the Guangdong pilot FTA, which includes the establishment of a new type of Futures Exchange in Guangzhou. The China Securities Regulatory Commission, National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), relevant departments of Guangzhou’s People’s Government and relevant experts participated.
During the workshop, the participants discussed the feasibility of various CCER futures, as well as the process to facilitate the establishment of this new type of Futures Exchange. The next steps have been determined and the Futures Exchange Guangzhou is ready to be launched with CCER as its futures product.
