EU and China Plan Meeting to Forge Closer Carbon Market Ties Worldwide

17 November 2016 – The EU and China will convene a meeting of carbon market nations in the first half of 2018 with the aim of advancing work on linking emissions trading systems and establishing their joint leadership in global efforts to combat climate change. This is also a strategy between both powers to confront the possibility of the U.S. withdrawing from the Paris Agreement.
