17 September 2017 – The Center of Hubei Cooperative Innovation For Emissions Trading System, as well as Social Sciences Academic Press jointly published a report on China’s pilot emission trading systems (ETS) in the year 2017.
The report demonstrates the annual improvement of compliance rates in the individual pilot carbon trading markets. Currently, the overall average compliance rate lies at 99%. Furthermore, the report contains in-depth analyses of annual trading volumes, carbon prices and allowance allocation methods implemented in the pilot ETSs, as well as cross-sectoral and international comparative analyses on carbon emission reductions and trade intensity. The report concludes with policy recommendations regarding the upcoming establishment of the national ETS in China.
