Beijing Expects to Link ETS to More Regions

04 May 2016 – Besides Chengde City in Hebei Province, Beijing expects to link its pilot ETS to more cities and regions elsewhere in China before the end of the year. In March this year, cement producers and power generators, including some large coal-fired power plants located in Hohhot and Ordos in Inner Mongolia were brought in. So far the move has not significantly pushed up trading volumes, but some of the Inner Mongolian generators are expected to introduce new demand to the market ahead of the June compliance deadline.
